Chaeeun Lee was born in Incheon, South Korea. She started playing the piano at the age of 6 with her debut performance at the age of 11. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from Texas Christian University with full piano scholarship under the tutelage of Dr. Michael Bukhman. During her time in Texas, she served as a staff pianist at Weatherford College where she played for choirs and opera workshops, and she became the first recipient of a certificate of excellence in that institution. Not only a collaborative pianist, but also a soloist, Chaeeun played in numerous halls for her solo and chamber recitals including Van Cliburn Hall, PepsiCo Hall, Alkek Fine Arts Hall, and Ceramic Palace Hall. She has won top prizes in solo competitions including the Hanye National Competition, Universal Music, Gimpo Philharmonic Orchestra, and Charleston International Music.
As a member of MTNA, she also has a passion for piano pedagogy and seeks to support growing students to experience the beauty of music. She is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music, under Dr. Andrew Harley at the Eastman School of Music with a graduate assistantship in studio accompanying.
